For so much of my life, I wanted to spread love to others. Love was an ingredient that I spread upon people, sprinkling it here and there, thinking that I was making a difference and bringing beauty into the world.

I have recently had a perspective shift; in which I asked myself, how do I be the love in this situation? This isn’t about spreading love; this is about embodying love in all interactions.

This thought shift is a recent blessing in my life, a life that is so filled with blessings. It occurred to me when I missed a flight; causing me to delay arriving in Arizona for one day. This situation provided me an opportunity to choose, do I react with frustration, or do I choose to be love? On this day, I chose to be love.

I had walked into the Denver airport with a mere 40 minutes until my flight took off. I knew I would not be able to go through check-in, security, and get to my gate in time. I walked up to the check-in desk, to find out that their internet service was down. They could not even help me find an alternative flight.

This was the moment when I chose to be love. I could have become frustrated. I could have fallen apart. Instead, I looked at the ladies behind the desk and had empathy for them; they did not choose this situation. I breathed, I smiled and I thanked them.

I asked myself, what other options could there be? At that moment my phone rang; it was Dr. Richard Kaye, the man in my life. He immediately offered to come to pick me up and drive me 7 hours to another airport from where I could easily fly to Phoenix. I was surrounded by love, and opened up to new possibilities that were not on my horizon before.

Being the love is more than spreading nice words; it is actually opening my heart to ever-expanding circles of tolerance and acceptance to those with whom I am in contact. It is a complete lack of resistance to what is showing up in my life. In fact, being the love is dropping all resistance to everything. It is loving myself, valuing myself, so much, that I can accept others just as they are. Being the love means seeing the people through the eyes of God; seeing their divinity; seeing them through the liquid gold flame that grows inside their heart.

I found the following statements in a blog called Dissolving the Veil, Thought by Thought; on www.circleoflight.net. I am so very grateful to have been gifted this understanding; to truly see the difference between simply spreading love, and being the love.

  • Being the love means having the ability to transform every resistance of the mind into the heart’s field of grace
  • Being the love means expressing your truth and your real nature with every heartbeat of the shining love that you are
  • Being the love means knowing that any judgment you have creates confusion, as your heart says to you, “This is a part of yourself that you are judging.”
  • Being the love means that you live as an extension of God’s love; lovingly touching everything and holding it close in the inclusive circle of Real Love.

What magic might open up in your world, if you choose to be the love?
